Weird.

I would’ve sworn I’d seen Moyashimon back when it first aired. I had it in my head that I’d at least seen half of the series or so. I knew the plot. I knew about the key “twists” that happen later in the series. But when I sat down and watched the series over the past couple of days I realized that, no, I hadn’t seen the series. And here I was rating the damn thing a 9 on My Anime List when I hadn’t seen it.

That rating’s staying in place, by the way. It’s a pretty damn cool series now that I’ve actually seen it.

So I watched Black (Insert Star Symbol Here) Rock Shooter.

I figured it was going to be some fluff piece with a little bit of fighting and a bunch of crappy Vocaloid songs, all of which would be strung together very loosely by a nonsensical plot that boils down to “anime chicks that look like they were drawn by Rob Liefeld like to kill each other.” I wasn’t looking forward to it or anything, but I figured it’d be an amusing diversion if it stuck with something resembling my assumptions.

Nope. We got something completely different and utterly stupid.

Dammit! I started on this post yesterday, got distracted, then Scamp goes and posts a somewhat similar insane conspiracy theorist post about that new chick in Occult Academy before me. Now I look like more of a poser than I usually do.

No dude! Don’t hit that! She’s an evil alien scout trying to get you out of the picture! Or an evil secret society temptress playing into your type! Or an evil manifestation of your deepest subconscious trying to ruin your every move!
